The emergence and proliferation of the Internet has revolutionized every aspect of the business world from the people to product design to sales. Every student graduating from Mccombs is affected by the Internet. The Internet is constantly advancing and becoming intergrated into our daily lives. It still has so much potential for growth in every industry, especially those that are technologically intensive (Mehta 2005).
Microsoft is not an exception. The Internet has led to many changes within Microsoft's competitive strategy. Microsoft has been willing to dive into unfamiliar territory in order to maintain a competitive advantage and gain market share. Even when problems have surfaced, Microsoft has shown that it can adapt and grow. Microsoft must continue with its constantly innovative business strategy in order to survive in this highly competitive industry.
The Internet created an easier and cheaper medium of communication that has allowed Microsoft to expand its market more easily, but it has also increased piracy and security issues.
